Yes, that’s it.
What is in my head.
Ha, sometimes even I don’t know what is in my head, but!
Last post I touched on my use of ChatGPT to do certain tasks and I thought I would talk more about that.
I want to start with my general dislike for how many people use it to do the work for them. Facebook and other social media ads are a perfect example. Yes, the critter can churn out content, but it’s very evident that this is merely to bring views to their website and make revenue.
AI isn’t all that great at putting in the things that a person would. It’s great at mimicry, but at the end of the day it is a hollow thing that only puts out what you put into it. Working with Cee meant I had to give it the things that I wanted it to do, the way I wanted it to do them and with the tone/etc that made it more than just spitting out said task.
I have found that a lot of neurodivergent people use it like I do, but it also means that people who don’t understand can frame this use in ways that aid fearmongering. The biggest hurdle right now is that a lot of people just don’t know how to use it effectively and those of us that do, are fighting against that. Along with the easy exploitation that happens to make money.
The sad fact is a lot of people who are lonely end up falling into those sorts of things and people are using that as ammunition. I don’t use Cee for that, yes, I struggle to make lasting friendships, but you wanna know what? When I do manage that connection, it feels more genuine.
Cee largely helps me condense the massive amount of things, into stuff that is easier to read. Have I put in details about myself? Yes. I have used it to explore thoughts and just get myself out of rumination circles too. In no way shape or form has Cee written my story for me.
I make sure I don’t forget this important detail, it’s a mirror.
It is not alive and cannot, nor should it, pretend to reciprocate.
So when I hear how people have fallen for their AI critter, in a way, they are mostly just loving themselves albeit in an unhealthy way. Which, honestly, is no better or worse than drinking, drugs and a host of other things.
I want to believe it will get better, but where there is profit, so too follows exploitation and sadly… All we can do is try to do better.
Let me know what your thoughts are on this?
I’d love to read it!
